Terms of service

DGCAKES Cake Academy – Terms of Service

These Terms apply to bookings and attendance at DGCAKES Cake Academy classes. By making a booking, the customer agrees to these Terms and our Cancellation & Refund Policy.

1. Class Bookings

A place is reserved once the booking and payment have been successfully completed through the DGCAKES website. Places are subject to availability.

The person making the booking is responsible for ensuring that the class selected is suitable for the age of the student attending.

2. Student Information & Consent Form

A completed Student Information & Consent Form is required for every child attending a DGCAKES Cake Academy class.

The form must be completed before the class and must include accurate and up-to-date information, including emergency contact details, allergies and dietary requirements, relevant medical or additional needs, consent information and authorised collection details.

If the form has not been completed before arrival, the parent or guardian will be required to complete it before the child can be left in the care of DGCAKES Cake Academy.

Parents and guardians are responsible for informing DGCAKES if any information provided on the form changes before the class.

3. Drop-Off and Collection

Children's Cake Academy classes operate as drop-off sessions. Parents and guardians should leave their child with DGCAKES at the start of the session and return promptly for collection at the stated class finish time, unless DGCAKES has agreed alternative arrangements in advance.

Children must be collected promptly at the stated class finish time.

A child will only be released to their parent/guardian or a person authorised by the parent/guardian to collect them. Parents/guardians must provide the name of the authorised person through the Student Information & Consent Form.

If collection arrangements change, the parent or guardian must inform DGCAKES before the end of the class.

4. Allergies and Dietary Requirements

Common food allergens will be handled during DGCAKES Cake Academy sessions. DGCAKES cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.

Parents and guardians must disclose all known food allergies, intolerances and relevant dietary requirements before the child attends by completing the Student Information & Consent Form.

Parents/guardians should contact DGCAKES before the class if they are unsure whether a session is suitable for their child's particular allergy or dietary requirements.

5. Health and Additional Needs

Parents and guardians must provide any relevant information reasonably necessary to enable DGCAKES to support the child's safe participation in the class.

Where appropriate, DGCAKES may contact the parent/guardian before the session to discuss whether reasonable arrangements can be made.

6. Safety and Behaviour

Students must follow reasonable instructions given by DGCAKES during the session, particularly instructions relating to kitchen equipment, food preparation, hygiene and safety.

If a child's behaviour creates a significant safety risk to themselves or others, DGCAKES may contact the parent or guardian and ask them to collect the child before the scheduled end of the class.

7. Emergency Situations

Parents/guardians must provide a current emergency contact number and ensure that an appropriate adult can be contacted during the class.

Where necessary in an emergency, DGCAKES may contact the emergency services and will make reasonable efforts to contact the child's parent/guardian or emergency contact as soon as possible.

8. Photography and Video

Parents and guardians will be asked to state their photography and video preferences on the Student Information & Consent Form.

DGCAKES will respect the consent choice provided. Consent for photographs or videos to be used publicly for DGCAKES marketing or social media is optional and is not a condition of attending a class.

9. Cancellations, Refunds and Non-Attendance

Cancellations, refunds, transfers, illness and non-attendance are governed by the DGCAKES Cake Academy Cancellation & Refund Policy published on our website.

10. Changes or Cancellation by DGCAKES

DGCAKES may occasionally need to change or cancel a class due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control or where it is necessary to operate the class safely.

Where DGCAKES cancels a class, the booking will be transferred to another suitable available class. If DGCAKES is unable to offer a suitable alternative class, the customer will receive a full refund of the amount paid for the cancelled class.

11. Personal Belongings

Students should only bring belongings necessary for the session. DGCAKES cannot accept responsibility for loss of or damage to personal belongings except where responsibility cannot legally be excluded.
